This Giveaway Has Ended--Primo Water Dispenser Review and Giveaway
Yes, it's another giveaway, and you're going to love this one. I know I do!
MomsWhoSave is giving away a Primo water dispenser. This is a nice one too guys!
Let me tell you why I'm so excited about this giveaway. I moved four years ago from a city that had amazingly good--no make that GREAT-tasting water. Our water was literally used in bottled water. Then I moved to where I live now, where you couldn't pay me to drink what comes out my faucet. I don't know how it passes whatever tests the city puts it through. I love this city, don't get me wrong, but this water makes my coffee look like sludge, and is just not drinkable. So...we've been buying water for four years. Lately we've been buying water bottles. I know how horrible that is for the environment, and we kid my son about the collection of them he's starting in his room. I don't even want to think about the how much money we've spent.
With all that in mind, I was thrilled to be offered a Primo water dispenser to review and another to give away! It didn't take long to fall in love. Here's why:
- It loads from the bottom--no lifting heavy water bottles up onto the water cooler
- Did I just say "cooler?" It's not just a cooler! It dispenses cold and hot water (hot enough for hot cocoa, tea, instant soup, etc.) I'm finding myself drinking more tea!
- The ugly water bottle is hidden -- fits in much nicer with your other appliances
- It has a nightlight! A soft light shines near where water's dispensed so if you wake up for a drink of water during the night, you can see what you're doing.
- It just looks great & you have three designs to choose from
- The refill bottles are available down the street at the grocery store we shop at a few times a week (actually they're available almost everywhere, but this is really convenient)
There are only two concerns or questions I want to address for you. First, the energy costs of heating and cooling the water. These are Energy Star-rated appliances, which makes me feel better than if they weren't, but I don't know if there'll be any impact on my electricity bills. You can choose to turn off the hot water button if you'd like, by the way. Then you won't pay to maintain the reservoir of heated water.
The only other concern I can think of is the hot water dispenser and child safety. There is a child-proof button that dispenses the hot water. You essentially have to press two things at the same time to make the hot water flow. And, the buttons are at the very top of the dispenser.
In general, our whole family is so glad we have the Primo water dispenser, and we're definitely drinking more water! If you're currently buying water, I would urge you to consider the convenience and savings you get with the Primo dispenser.

This Giveaway has Ended--The Man Who Became Santa Claus, and Other Winter Tales Book Giveaway
As we officially start the winter season, I have a new giveaway for you today--an autographed copy of award-winning newspaper columnist Lorraine Ahearn's new book, "The Man Who Became Santa Claus, and Other Winter Tales."
This new book is a collection of stories Ahearn has written over the years in her time with the Greensboro News and Record. I couldn't put it better than this information I received about the book--"It's a mix of gritty crime yarns, wry twists of fate and unexpected humanity amid hard times."
It's a great book to curl up with or to read when you have a moment here and there, since it's made up of short columns. I am so busy, that this is perfect when I want to take a little break for myself.
I loved the touching stories about real people, and I think you will too. It would be a great gift for anyone. I don't know if Christmas delivery is still possible, but you can order now at lorraineahearn.com, get free shipping, and your copy will be autographed!
You can also learn more about the author and read a short excerpt from the book.
To enter the giveaway, leave a comment below telling me why you want to win this book. (required to enter) Also be sure to leave your email address so I can reach you if you win.

KidsEatFor.com App Lets You Find Free Kids' Meals On The Go!
KidsEatFor.com is a website and an app available for iPhone, iTouch, and Android that lets you know which restaurants offer free kids' meals near you.
I have sometimes used other websites that offer this service, but this app is convenient if you're already out and decide to grab a restaurant meal. You don't need a computer to tell you which restaurants near you offer free kids' meals. The information is on your phone.
You can also add deals you know about to the database, so the service is continuously growing. Right now it is available in major cities, so if you don't see your city listed, please check back in the future.
You can also follow KidsEatFor.com on Twitter and Facebook for updates on the service.
