FriXion Erasable Pens Review and Coupon
I was recently offered some FriXion erasable gel pens from Pilot to review. The first thing I thought of was the erasable pens from when I was a kid. Who remembers those?
The ink smudged, and if you did try to erase with them, you mostly just smeared ink across the page. If you tried a little harder to erase, you probably made a hole in your paper.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that this is NOT the case with the new FriXion erasable pens. They write like a regular pen, and when you need to erase, they erase completely with no smudges and no damage to your paper—very cool!
Pilot also makes FriXion erasable highlighters. Again, they’re just like a regular highlighter, but they do erase cleanly—nice!
If you’d like to give them a try, grab your $1 coupon here.
Disclosure: I received FriXion pens and highlighters courtesy of SheSpeaks.com for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own.

Free Shipping on Disney Store Costumes plus a Disney Store Sale
For us moms who are not super crafty, and lack the time (or skills--like me) to make our kids’ Halloween costumes, here’s a great deal…
Right now The Disney Store online is offering free shipping on their Halloween costumes. You need to use the coupon code: TREAT, and the offer is good through Tuesday, September 21st.
I have found these to be very high quality, especially compared to the flimsy costumes you often find in the party or discount stores. For kids who like to keep their costumes to play dress-up, or if you want to resell or consign them, these are great. There are even costumes that are at or near the prices of party store costumes. With a quick search on Disney’s site, I turned up these costumes under $30. If you want to spend more, you’re going to find some really elaborate costumes.
I just love the ones for little girls—with two big boys in the house, I won’t be buying any of these, but they’re fun to look at!
By the way, Disney has adult costumes if you want to dress up too.
I should also mention that if you buy a Halloween costume, you can get free shipping on your entire order with coupon code: TREAT—not just the costume (but you must buy a costume for free shipping), so definitely check out the whole site. There’s a sale going on with up to 50% off!
If Disney’s not your thing, you can use MomsWhoSave’s search feature here to search for other costumes (or anything else).

Donors Choose Helps Children and Schools in Need
I want to tell you about an organization I love! It’s called Donors Choose.
You probably know, especially if you’re a parent, that schools just don’t have enough money for even the basics anymore. Parents are spending more and more on necessities, like hand soap, tissues, and copy paper. If teachers want to do extra projects, take field trips, or get equipment like microscopes, art supplies, or musical instruments, it can be next to impossible.
This is where Donors Choose comes in. On their website, you’ll find postings from teachers all across the United States who are looking for funding for their projects. They might need something as simple as more pencils and paper, or they might be looking for overhead projectors, graphing calculators, or musical instruments. You’ll see there are some impoverished schools who really need help with just basic supplies. In a search on the site for “pencil,” there were lots of requests for pencils, paper, and working pencils sharpeners. Some teachers said students couldn’t do their classwork because they didn’t have a pencil.
If you’d like to browse the available projects, I love the way you can sort through them. You can find schools close to you, look for special needs classrooms, search by school subject, see what’s most urgently needed, and more. Then you can donate as much or as little as you can. You don’t have to fund an entire project. You can just put a little toward it, along with others who are doing the same.
I recommend having your children have a look at this site with you. They might be amazed at how little some classrooms and children their age are getting by on at school and what basic supplies they need. May-be they can give a couple of dollars of their own money. It’s a great way for kids to understand how fortunate they are in comparison.
Once a project reaches its funding goal, Donors Choose delivers the materials to the school. Then you'll get photos of your project taking place, a thank-you letter from the teacher, and a cost report showing how each dollar was spent. If you give over $100, you'll also receive hand-written thank-you letters from the students.
Now that school has started, please check out this amazing non-profit. You’re sure to find a deserving classroom that needs your help!

As usual, there’s a limit of five per customer. I don’t know if this sale will be as crazy as the flip-flop and tank top sales, but you might want to go early for the best selection of sizes and colors.
