I'm in the middle of creating my own photo calendar, and used Mixbook to make a hardcover photo book this past summer. I can tell you from experience, you'll love how simple Mixbook is to use. You can use their themes and layouts to personalize your calendar along with your favorite photos. Then add more embellishments and change or add text wherever you want on your pages. Everything is "drag and drop" and is so simple to work with. It really couldn't be easier!
