MomsWhoSave says -- I was sent these leggings, and yes, if you want something with smoothing and shaping they are definitely for you! The waist comes up higher to hold in your tummy if that's a concern. Although these leggings hold you in at the top, they are not so tight that they are uncomfortable. They come in small, medium, large, etc., and I am between size small and medium normally. I went with the medium, and that was a good choice. If I'd gone a size down, I think they'd have been too tight--something to be aware of.
