Flash Giveaway in Support of The Shelter Pet Project -- Win a $100 Amazon Gift Card!

Have you ever adopted or considered adopting a pet? Of all the pets in American homes, only 29% were adopted from a shelter or rescue. Each year approximately 3-4 million pets are adopted, but 2.7 million still lose their lives each year for lack of a home.

Seventeen million people will acquire a pet within the next year. The Shelter Pet Project, a collaborative effort between The Humane Society of the United States, Maddie’s Fund® and the Ad Council, hopes to encourage these prospective pet owners to adopt shelter and rescue pets. Here is just one of those shelter pets:

I know from personal experience that there are no better pets than shelter pets. And, there are so many available for adoption, you can find just about any breed or size of dog (or cat) you're looking for at the shelter. I'm in favor of letting the right pet choose you!

Visit TheShelterPetProject.org to learn more about pet adoption.

ShelterPets.Org is a site in another language. Nothing to do with animals.

I went to the link but could not read it, it was in another language and couldn't translate. So, I wasn't able to learn anything about the site.

I learned that a shelter is the first place I will consider when adopting my next pet.

Is says the web page isn't available? I didn't learn anything.

Our goal is to make shelters the first place potential adopters turn when looking to get a new pet, ensuring that all healthy and treatable pets find loving homes.

I learned that The Shelter Pet Project is the result of a collaborative effort between two leading animal welfare groups, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund, and the leading producer of public service advertising (PSA) campaigns, The Ad Council.

You can interact with a pet. I think this is so cool! I do adopt homeless cats, but often before they get to the shelter. Most of mine have been found kitties. They've all been wonderful!
