This Giveaway Has Ended--HALO SleepSack Giveaway
October is SIDS Awareness Month, and today, MomsWhoSave has some important information and a new giveaway from a company that is devoted to preventing SIDS.
HALO Innovations, Inc. is sponsoring our giveaway, and was founded by William Schmid after he lost his daughter to SIDS. HALO makes products like the SleepSack Wearable Blanket to help keep babies safe. With the SleepSack, your baby stays warm at night without blankets, since loose blankets in the crib increase the risk of SIDS.
Other tips to help prevent SIDS include:
*placing your baby to sleep on their back at naptime and bedtime
*keeping the crib free of bumpers, soft toys, and loose blankets
*only putting your baby to sleep on a firm mattress with a tight-fitting sheet, not on a sofa, quilt, waterbed, chair, etc.
*not smoking or bringing your baby into a smoky environment
*not dressing your baby too warmly, and keeping their room between 68-72 degrees *when your baby is awake and supervised, give them plenty of "tummy time" to allow them to strengthen their upper body
